I have used various current technologies for information sharing, connecting to victims and colleagues located in different time zones and places. I have also trained human rights victims in usage and maintenance of these technologies so as to better address their human rights violations.

As human rights legal officer the most important role is to provide a sound and effective legal advice related to human rights to human rights victims or the NGO OR non-governmental organisation. Human rights legal officers are mainly engaged in researching human rights law to give advice for specific cases. They are also responsible to draft and review agreements, and settlements for court proceedings.

A company or country is recognized by its focus on human rights, ease of living and human rights index which has a profound effect on the image. Hence, human rights needs to be protected at all costs for maintain the image and provide opportunities to all as well as address human rights violations. Human rights impact in short and long term as, the short term impact leads to rise in human rights violations and persecution and long term impact is loss of image on global stage.

Any human rights related work requires a team effort and managing subordinates becomes important to ensure smooth working of human rights related work. I regularly check new laws being passed for human rights and cases being settled by courts for human rights by subscribing to legal news updates, seminars and conferences as available.

My greatest work-related accomplishment in human rights has been the successful drafting, prosecution and negotiation for an employee case where human rights were violated by the employer by following unfair labour practices.

As a human rights legal officer I am having extensive experience in giving legal advice as well as drafting and prosecution for all human rights related cases. I also have the requisite managerial skills for human rights and related legal work.

Disagreements lead to conflicts amongst the team members. As per the situation applicable, I apply conflict management technique like collaborating, forcing, accommodating or compromising after identifying the basis for disagreements.

Time is precious and hence is to be managed at first. I use simple time management techniques like using to do lists, being aware of time wasters and optimizing work environment

Yes, there was an instance when I failed to achieve the defined goals as human rights legal officer. I had planned for using automating the related legal case search process and for which all arrangements in the office were completed within time and budget. But, due to COVID-19 pandemic, lockdown was enforced halting the roll out. After lifting of the lockdown we were able to achieve the specified goals and implemented the automation.

Intellectual property rights involves not only protecting your own products, brands, etc but also implementing processes and procedures for being competitive. These processes usually involve changes to be made I working of the company.
