Who is a Project Manager?

“Project manager is the person accountable for the success or failure of a project. They are responsible for the planning, procurement and execution of a project.”

Project Manager is primarily the first point of contact for any issues or discrepancies’ arising within the heads of various departments in an organization before it gets escalated to a higher level. The only aim of the project manager is to maintain the progress, improve the mutual interface and tasks of various parties in order to reduce the risk of overall failure, and thereby maximizing the overall benefits and minimizing costs.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary role of a Project Manager is to ensure that everyone on the team knows and executes his or her task well, feels empowered and supported in the assigned roles, aware of the roles of the other team members and acts upon the belief that those roles will be performed.

Specific responsibilities of the Project Manager may vary depending on the industry, company size, company maturity, and the culture of the company.
