Inheritance not only apply to tag styles but it also works with any type of style which are a class style, ID styles, descendent selectors, and the other types of styles. Some outlining rules dictate application of inheritance and which usually include
- Properties affecting element’s placement on the web page like the margins, background colors, and borders of elements aren’t inherited.
- Browsers also have their own inherent styles to format various tags like headings are big in font size and bold, links are blue, etc.
- If multiple styles clash then the style which more specifically points to an element wins.
