Vestibule Training
The Vestibule Training is where the technical staff, who deal with the tools and equipment, are given the training in the place other than the main production plant. The Vestibule training is known as “near the job training”, which means a replicated setup is established, near to the main production plant, where the technical staff learns how to operate the tools and machinery correctly. There are special trainers who provide this training to the technical staff. This training can be conducted in classrooms also that are near to the main production plant.
Advantages of Vestibule Training
- Useful to provide training to a large number of people, who have the same type of job.
- The workers can concentrate only on the training and do not fear about the mistakes that can happen during the production.
- The actual work does not suffer because the training is delivered at the replicated place despite of the actual work place.
- The workers familiarize themselves with the replicated work environment due to which their anxiety decreases before going to the actual workplace.
- The training is given by an expert to dedicate more time to each worker’s problem. which cannot be possible if the line supervisor trains the trainees.
Disadvantages of Vestibule Training
- The vestibule training is costly as it comprises of the replicated place near to the actual workplace. It includes duplicate machines and tools that are present at the actual workplace so that the workers can have a real experience through the training.
- A skilled trainer demands more money to provide the training.
- The vestibule training takes a lot of time as an entire setup is created before delivering the training to the employees. The workers may find it hard to adapt the real work environment.
