There are various strategies for employees’ retention. The first step in the process is to understand the theories of job satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Through this we can collect data according to the satisfaction level of the current employees. After this, we can start to apply certain strategies for employee retention plans.

Theories on Job Dissatisfaction

There are numerous theories to tell what makes an employee satisfied and unsatisfied. While you may have learned about some theories like- behavior of the organizations that help us to understand better about an employees’ satisfaction.

The primary step to develop a retention plan is to determine some of the basic theories of job satisfaction. One of those theories is the progression of job withdrawal. This means when an employee develops a set of behaviors to avoid their work situation. These include behavioral change, physical and psychological withdrawal.

Salary issues

Impartial pay is expected, but it cannot encourage someone to perform better in their jobs. While on the other hand, programs to enhance the capabilities of the employees, such as management training programs, are considered to be great motivators. Hence, our retention plans must focus on the area of fair salaries too.

The application of all these strategies are very essential for great retention plans. They helps tells us to improve and enhance our retention plans. In addition to this, they also tell us to include training and other activities that can make the employees feel valued.
