Registration of Establishment Employing Contract Labour
Under the Act, every establishment is covered. Although if it wants to engage twenty or more persons through a contractor. Then it has to get itself registered i.e. registration of establishment employing contract labour. Every principal employer of an establishment under section 7 to which the Act applies. Then an application to the registering officer shall be made by the employers. Within, the prescribed time limit, in the prescribed manner for registration of the establishment.
The registration fee varies from Rs. 20 to Rs. 500, which is related to the number of workmen employed. If the application is complete in all respects, as contract labour, is payable. a certificate of registration in the prescribed form. Revocation of registration in certain cases
In the following circumstances, the registration can be revoked:
In case, if the registering officer is satisfied. Either the registration has been obtained by misrepresentation or suppression of any material fact. Or on a reference made to him on his behalf, otherwise, or
If the registration has become ineffective and useless, for any other reason. Therefore, it requires revoking.
Thus, in both the cases, an opportunity for the principal employer of the establishment shall be given by the registering officer to be heard. Also, in case the registration is to be revoked, he will also obtain previous approval of the appropriate Government.
