Printers
Printers are peripheral output devices used to produce physical copies of digital documents. There are several types of printers commonly used in IT, including:
Inkjet printers: These printers work by spraying tiny droplets of ink onto paper to create a digital image. They are commonly used for home and small office use.
Laser printers: These printers use a toner cartridge and heat to fuse the toner onto paper to create a digital image. They are commonly used for high-volume printing in offices and businesses.
All-in-one printers: These printers combine printing, scanning, copying, and sometimes faxing capabilities into a single device.
Dot matrix printers: These printers use a print head with pins to strike an ink ribbon and create an image on paper. They are commonly used for printing invoices and other continuous forms.
3D printers: These printers use a digital model to create a physical object by layering material, such as plastic or metal, onto a print bed.
Printers can be connected to a computer using a wired connection, such as USB, Ethernet, or parallel port, or using a wireless connection, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. They may also have additional features such as automatic document feeders, double-sided printing, and borderless printing.
