Proper positioning of the computer keyboard and mouse is essential for creating an ergonomic workspace in an office administration setting. Here are some tips for achieving the ideal positioning:
Position the keyboard: The keyboard should be positioned directly in front of you, centered with your body. Make sure the keyboard is at a comfortable distance from your body so that your elbows are at a 90-degree angle.
Adjust the keyboard height: Adjust the height of the keyboard so that your forearms are parallel to the ground. If the keyboard is too high or too low, you may experience strain in your shoulders or arms.
Use a wrist rest: Consider using a wrist rest to support your wrists and help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. The wrist rest should be positioned so that your wrists are in a neutral position while typing.
Position the mouse: The mouse should be positioned next to the keyboard, within easy reach. The mouse should be at the same height as the keyboard, and your arm should be able to move freely without reaching or stretching.
