Rules framed under the Act by the central government on the question of wages
Under Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 971. Rules framed under the act by the central government on the question of wages from 63 to 73 are reproduced below:
- The wages shall be payable resulting to the contractor shall fix wage periods.
- The wage period must not exceed the limit of one month.
- The wage shall be paid before the tenth day expires after the last day in respect of which wages are payable. To every person employed as contract labour in an establishment. Or hired by a contractor where less than a thousand employees are employed.
- The wages earned by the terminated employee shall also be paid before the date expires. It shall be paid before the second working day expires from the day of his employment’s termination.
- Also, all payments related to wages shall be made on a working day. In advance on a notified date, at the work premises and within the duration of work time. The final payment shall be made, within 48 hours, of the last working day if the work completes before the expiry of the wage period.
- Direct due wages shall be made to every worker. Else to other whom, he has authorised on his behalf.
- All wages shall be paid only in current notes and coins.
- There shall be no deduction to be made in the wages unless Central Government has specified. Under the Act, 1936.
