IPv6

IPv6 is next IP addressing scheme after IPv4 and will be used to overcome deficiencies of IPv4. It is 128-bit address and can have of 340 undecillion addresses It will be more secure as IPsec will is used as base.

IPv6 addresses are 128-bit hexadecimal numbers divided in eight groups of four numbers each. IPv6 addresses are broken into three sections of global routing prefix, a subnet and individual interface ID. IPv6 address can be shortened as per laid rules and are shortened like 2001:7120:0:8001::1F10.
