Importance of Selection in HR- In HR electing the wrong employees can lead to all sorts of problems down the line. For instance, employees may fail to perform their jobs satisfactorily, they may leave soon after being hired because they are simply not a good fit for the company, or they may require extensive training and mentoring, which you may not have the time to provide.

Employee selection is the procedure that involves placing the right people at right place, such that the organizational requirements can be matched with that of the skills and qualifications of the candidates. An effective matching complements effective selection of employees. Choosing the most qualified candidate for the relevant job position ensures both quality performances of employees as well organization productivity. This also reflects low absenteeism and less of employee turnover problems. Moreover, the organization will save more on time and money. It is the employee selection procedure during which proper screening of candidates takes place and the potential candidates are tested hence for their qualifications and knowledge.
