Formatting text and list with CSS
In Dreamweaver CS5, you can use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to format text and create lists. Here are the basic steps:
- Create a new CSS style: Open the CSS Styles panel by selecting Window > CSS Styles or by pressing Shift+F11. Click on the “+” button to create a new style.
- Define the style properties: In the New CSS Rule dialog box, choose the type of selector you want to use (such as tag, class, or ID) and enter the selector name. Then click on the “OK” button to open the CSS Rule Definition dialog box. Here, you can set the font, color, size, alignment, and other properties for your text or list.
- Apply the style: To apply the style to text or a list, simply select the text or list and choose the style from the CSS Styles panel.
Formatting Text:
To format text, you can create a new CSS style for the desired selector, such as “p” for paragraphs, “h1” for headings, or “a” for links. Then, in the CSS Rule Definition dialog box, you can set the desired font, color, size, alignment, and other properties for the text.
Creating Lists:
To create a list, you can use the “ul” (unordered list) or “ol” (ordered list) selector in your CSS style. Then, in the CSS Rule Definition dialog box, you can set the desired properties for the list, such as the list-style-type, margin, padding, and font. Overall, using CSS in Dreamweaver CS5 allows you to easily format text and create lists that are consistent throughout your website.
