How do we define a Project?
“It is a collaborative enterprise, involving careful research and designing of a suitable action plan, generally by a project team, with an objective to achieve certain goal.”
Project may also be referred as a set of interrelated tasks to be executed over a fixed period and within certain cost and its limitations.
The word project comes from the Latin word projectum which originally meant “before an action”.
In the initial phase when the word ‘Project’ was adopted it indicated a plan of something, but not to the act of actually carrying out that plan. Where something performed in agreement with a project was known as an “object”.
A project may also be referred as a temporary social systems (like work systems) constituted by teams within or across organizations in order to complete a given tasks under some time constraints.
