A dashboard in business intelligence is a data visualization tool, which is used to display the information of an organization usually the current status (calculated on the bases of matrix calculation) and key performance index (also known as key performance indicators). They can be used to display the customized information on a single screen.

It had been noticed that, many a time people get confused with Score card (performance of organization) with Business Intelligent Dashboard. The difference between these two is a thin line, which is Business Intelligent Dashboard gives the information about the current status of the organization, whereas the Score Card is used to measure the progress of an organization toward a specific goal. Now a days most of the Business Intelligence Dashboard as combined with Score card to track the status of the organization at specific time and overall performance of the organization toward the specific goal.
