CMMi
The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a framework that provides guidelines for developing and improving software development processes. It was developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University and is widely used in the software development industry to improve process maturity and software quality.
CMMI defines a set of best practices and guidelines for software development organizations to improve their processes and deliver high-quality software products. The framework is organized into five maturity levels, with each level representing a higher level of process maturity:
- Initial: The lowest level of process maturity, characterized by ad hoc and unpredictable processes.
- Managed: At this level, the organization has defined its processes and can manage them using metrics and data.
- Defined: At this level, the organization has a standard process framework that is used across the organization.
- Quantitatively Managed: At this level, the organization uses metrics and data to manage and improve its processes.
- Optimizing: At the highest level of process maturity, the organization continually improves its processes based on feedback and data.
CMMI provides a set of guidelines and best practices for software development organizations to improve their processes and deliver high-quality software products. It emphasizes the importance of process improvement, standardization, and continuous improvement to ensure that software products meet customer needs and requirements. CMMI is widely used in the software development industry and is considered a best practice for improving process maturity and software quality.
