Challenges

E-Government project life cycle, also known as E-Government life cycle or eGLC in short is a continuous process for implementation of E-Government initiative and is usually followed for most of the E-Government projects.

Various key challenges occurring in e-Governance projects are

• Significant investments but with low improvement in service delivery and administration
• IT enabled processes with no improvement in the service levels
• Projects not completed in time and sometimes delayed for years
• Many of the projects are towards computerization, but not modernization
• Minimal online or self services to the stakeholders
• Low return on investment as low value got for service delivery timelines and quality of service
• Failure in meeting defined project objectives (if defined)
• Poor quality of the product and services (performance of product and vendor)
• Vendor lock-in
