BI life cycle and management
The BI life cycle starts fight from the phase when a problem arises and responsible person starts mining data. There are five phase in Business Intelligence life cycle in a broad picture. They are “Pre-planning and Analysis Phase”, “Strategy or Planning Phase”, “Designing Phase”, “Implementation/Realization Phase” and finally the “Roll-out Phase”. Let’s study them one by one.
Pre-Planning and Analysis Phase
In this phase, based on data available we study what is the current need of our business, how much far or near we are from these needs. What we need to do to achieve our current business needs. Based on these data, the organization prepares a rough figure and begins it planning. According to the need, organization may increase resources to accomplish the task or to overcome the current problem. This phase is also known as Discovery Phase as the organization discovers the need and prepares a rough estimation of its needs.
Strategy or Planning Phase
In this phase, when the organization has all the data from analysis phase, it starts to begin it planning or strategy. A strategy is must, as the competition increases every second in the market. And if you don’t have a strategy to deal with it, then it could bring the downfall within the organization.
