What is Compatibility Testing

Compatibility testing refers to a software testing to ensure compatibility of the system/application/website built with various other objects. For say, other web browsers, operating systems etc. In addition,this type of testing helps find out how well a system performs in a particular environment. It is the testing of application set up with the computing environment. To sum up, it tests whether the software set up is compatible with the hardware, database or other system software or not.

Reasons to failure

A common cause of software failure is a lack of compatibility with other application software, operating systems, or target environments.
