On the job training (OJT)
In this technique, a trainer teaches an employee the necessary skills to perform the job in the company. Through this, a trainee learns by observing and handling the job under the supervision of the trainer. Thus, people call it learning by performing the methods. Techniques that fall under this process are coaching, assignments and job rotation.
Vestibule training
In this method, the vestibule is set up with actual job conditions and expert trainers train the new employees with tools that are similar to the ones that will be present at their work. This increases the interests of an employee in this type of training. It is beneficial for training a large number of employees in a same type of job.
Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is the oldest and most common form of training. Trainers use this type of training in technical areas where understanding the skills of the job takes more time. It helps in retaining a skilled staff and also results in increasing the level of loyalty by the employees.
Internship
This type of training provides an opportunity to the employees to implement their theoretical knowledge that they have learnt during their studies. Thus it maintains a balance between the theoretical and practical features of the training.
