Creating a QRM mindset
To execute QRM it is vital that the company personnel internalize the strategy’s time-based principles. To start with, the employees versed in the QRM principle should compose a list of wastes due to long MCT while creating awareness of the detrimental effect of long lead times on operations.
If the company decides to act on these wastes, it is suggested that there is a creation of an organizational framework for the implementation effort. In this framework, a high-level QRM Steering Committee supervises all QRM efforts, while a QRM Champion – a senior employee with QRM training is responsible with supervising and managing projects on a day-to-day basis.
With the organizational framework in place, the Steering Committee can identify a set of goods as the target for the first QRM project.
