Create a basic form
To create a basic form in PHP, you can follow these steps:
- Create a new file with a “.php” extension in your project directory.
- Open the file and add the HTML form code inside the body section of the file. This includes the form tag with the method attribute set to “post” or “get” and the action attribute set to the URL of the PHP script that will process the form data. You should also include input fields with appropriate name attributes to capture user input.
- At the top of the file, you need to add PHP code to handle the form submission. This involves checking if the form has been submitted (using the $_SERVER[‘REQUEST_METHOD’] variable), retrieving the form data using the $_POST or $_GET superglobal arrays depending on the method attribute used in the form tag, and performing any necessary validation or processing of the data.
Once the form data has been processed, you can display a message to the user indicating that their submission was successful, or redirect them to another page using the header() function.
