Special Characters

Some characters other than alphanumeric characters have special meaning and some have no keyboard equivalent to enter like the angle brackets can be thought as markup by the browser. Hence, for them special characters called character entity or escape character are used. Character entities can be typed as either a numbered entity or a named entity. All character entities begin with an ampersand (&) and end with a semicolon (;). Example of them is
