Java is a high-level programming language created by Sun Microsystems in 1995.Originally called Oak,it was based on principle of “Write Once,Use Anywhere”.It was initially designed for handheld devices and set-top boxes , but with the advent of World Wide Web,it came to the forefront of web-development.

Here are a few reasons why you should learn java:

1.Java is an object-oriented language similar to C++, but simplified to eliminate language features that cause common programming errors. Moreover it is quite easy to learn if you have previous programming experience.

In 1990s, this was the main reason of Java’s popularity.
