“All” is an English word which defines every element of a particular set. This word is used by all of us even when we are approximately defining “all” the elements of a set.
When we say that “all of us” have the fundamental rights,we mean that all of us irrespective of what we may be,have the fundamental rights. There is no doubt here that “all” is used in a positive sense. But this word comes with a baggage too.
If one is hungry and wants to eat some chocolates,it will be foolish if he purchases “all” the chocolates from a shop.Waste of resources(here money),some chocolates may be wasted too and moreover any other person cannot have a chocolate from that shop. The major problems arise when we are talking about a large number of people. For example,Reservation of seats for “all” people of certain categories in government institutions irrespective of how rich they may be,no reservation for people of certain categories irrespective of how poor they may be,assuming “all” men to be sexist, assuming “all” women to be weak are some of the common examples of misusing the word “all”.The above examples will not need any further explanation. The list can go on like this.
Eating bulk of chocolates is not good for health and nothing can be more foolish than purchasing each and every chocolate from a shop.Likewise,it is not wise to pour resources over the people who do not need any attention.Instead of entertaining all people of a particular section, government can effectively help the needy people of that section and can also help needy people of different sections.Furthermore, age old policies should be improved for the betterment of the country. No policy of the country should hinder the development of an individual. The wise use of the word “all” will be when “all” the citizens of our nation are at the same level and none requiring any special treatment.
