Learning is an ongoing process which involves getting new knowledge, skills either by written knowledge or even experiences. Organizations involved in providing learning related activities are specifically focused on making the process of learning more effective by using different approaches and theories for learning whether it is applicable to learning English or any other language or even any skill.
Various techniques are used by trainers and educators for making the learning effective and which includes
1. Keep your instructions positive
Say,” Do this”, rather than, “Don’t do that.”
2. Avoid jargon.
If you do use technical terms, be sure to explain them.
3. Tailor training to the individual’s abilities.
Every individual for learning has his or her own specific abilities through which he or she will be able to learn more quickly and effectively hence, customize learning accordingly.
4. Never intimidate or ridicule
Never use intimidation or ridicule to try to make someone learn.
5. Focus candidate’s success
Focus on accomplishments rather than mistakes.
6. Praise and encourage
Offer frequent praise and encouragement.
7. Be enthusiastic.
Let your words and actions show you care about your team and the work you do.
8. Make regular progress checks.
Let the person know how he or she is doing as soon as possible. Take a few minutes to talk, or send a note complimenting the person on a job well done.
9. Encourage questions
Create an atmosphere of questioning and enable candidates to ask any question about the topic irrespective of time or relevance of the question.
10. Be patient and maintain a sense of humor.
Candidates take time to learn and hence, trainers should be patient enough to let candidate express himself or herself, illustrating their learning grasp.
