No need of making us fool or stupid as I think we really are. Which country would see this type of public discourse in which a partiality is unveiled and they are still quite and listening to all non sense. If you are thinking that this is not today’s case then I guess it must be as old as our time of existence of our “civil society”.
Essentially the treatment which she gets is not important. Or I might that it’s a redundant topic. I guess if she is your close one and is treated the same way like others. Hoping you may sound different. The day she is born on one hand many must say she is laxmi or saraswati but on other hand necessity of “kuldeepak” still prevails. Hold on people on one hand the other she is worshipped after marriage “kuldevi” and on other hand when she is born you seem astonished. Think for a moment that is rebellious, balky, or recalcitrant as he says to provide rights to her but really is that the case!
If I am not wrong then her stentorian voice asks solution for the dilemma he invaded. It makes sense the problems obstacles or hurdles faced by her are caused by he dominating society (patriarchal). No wonder in country like India she is worshipped in different avatars on different occasions and yet people does not change. What kind of hypocrites are they? They are their close ones (brother, father, uncle, grandfather, grand uncles). Don’t flatter yourself. Psychologically, they feel that the next generation she should be treated the same way as she was. Women can’t you say let bygones be bygones. This will be a real start when you will start feeling or saying it.
Essentially, family involves brother, sister, mother and father and think if she isn’t there how much emptiness will be in family, neighbourhood, or within yourself. To whom HE share what all happened today? Brother who promise her sister I’ll protect you. She feels suffocated and wants to go far away.
Brother says not to go out. Father orders to focus on domestic work. Mother advices to obey men and do yes without raising question. Follow men in the sense what they order not what they do. No wonder the day will not be far away when they create desensitization in us. Men beat brutally to their females. Whosoever makes mistakes the blame is on “karamjalli”. What kind of abusive language is used and it’s not a talk which can be unseen or behaviour which could be undo like a command in computer. The marks are always present and with every other event it is uprooted again.
The infamous case of nirbhya, west Bengal girl, gang rapes, still they need evidence or witnesses to punish these demons and see their courage how they say what wrong we have done? It’s not they who are guilty it’s us who is silent or quite. Let’s just believe that they do not have sister or mother in their house but we have.
Since Ramayana to the very second you are reading this article one must be thinking the dos and dont’s of her. How she should have been? What kind of behaviour she must have? Might be that she attracted him?
Now don’t start preparing or giving lame excuse that I do not think like this or in my surrounding no one does like this. It happens everywhere whether it’s rural or urban area. And, by everyone, educated or illiterate.
Who is she? Why she is laughing? Why talking to males? Why not married at this age? Why not practicing household chores? She cannot even dream for making her known place in the world. Agree, some women are there who are known in the world but others are not even known to their families or close ones. She should know everything as she turn up her marriage age. Err if she knows everything then why not allowing her to move out of the well.
Mother awaits when will her child will speak the first word and practice everything to make her curious to learn but when it comes into real practice they are the ones who backstab their own daughters. Don’t allow her to fight for her needs. And mothers you need to grow up and have faith in them.
Jaha istriyo ka samman hota hai wha devta virrajman hote hai.
Said by saints or sadhus who themselves tag a baby girl as an inauspicious event. And give advice to have patience. Sabra ka phal meetha hota hai.
She has been patient, forbearing, and tolerant whenever his demands or wishes were fulfilled. It is said if you want to check the patience check of a women. But the very other hand essentially in hindu methodology we see the avatar of kali, durga, chandi. We refer them as vinnashkali who may cause disruption, destruction or catastrophe. Don’t fall the world into Armageddon. It is not far away when she will lose her patience.
I wonder when will be the day when all fathers would say to a daughter do what you want. It is fine if you don’t indulge in domestic work or don’t marry? I think I am going to a utopian state. But see for yourself, how you treat us and what the point in treating us like this is. Is that your personal grudge but how foolish am I as he thinks she is no better than him. Married men say that she is her soul mate if they mean it then why they make her sit at home solo (alone).
India got freedom in 1947 but the desire for freedom still persist in the hearts of ‘she’. When will she would be free to laugh, speak, act, or play. The basic rights are violated and see the dilemma she cannot even complain. Again the whole constitution had been made by him and see the irony the rights specified by it cannot be implied on her.

Great work! 🙂
U put good efforts!Keep it up!
A much needed article, a much needed topic. Highly impressive. Just one thing that I would like to say is that the way women are treated now a days in urban areas is much better than before and it must keep increasing as the days pass by. 😉
“Which country would see this type of public discourse in which a partiality is unveiled and they are still quite and listening to all non sense.”
There is only one reason I can give to sum up the causes for all that you have written: sexual dimorphism.
Btw, there were approx 5-10 women involved in writing our constitution.
Oh, forgot one thing. The sentence under inverted commas in my above comment was just appreciating you on such great thought
Well written! In this hyprocritic patriarchal society, someone had to step up; and not by using neofeminism as a tool, but actually embracing the reality and workng towards its solution!
