Microsoft Surface 2 tablet will launch on October 22 in 21 countries and which will sell for $899.
The Surface Pro 2 has a large 10-inch screen, a full Intel Core i5 processor, and a 1,920×1,080-pixel-resolution display — all specs you might find in a high-end ultraportable laptop.
Another less expensive version of the Surface Pro 2 wil also be launched with the same 1,920×1,080 screen as the Surface Pro 2 at $449.
Both are thinner and lighter with 25 percent longer battery life. The Surface 2 runs a stripped down version of Windows 8.
The 32GB Surface 2, which runs Windows RT, will retail for $449, $50 less than its predecessor. A 64GB will cost $549. The Pro version, meanwhile, starts at $899 for the 64GB version.
Surface Pro 2 has Intel’s Haswell the latest processor, which makes the tablet faster than 90 percent of presently available laptops.
Both of the new Surface tablets feature an improved version of Microsoft’s integrated kickstand.
