A good management creates a considerable amount of safety margin for investors. The big question is, how to determine the management’s performance? There are some ways of evaluating management effectively.

First thing is that the management should have a substantial stake in the company. A management that invests in its own company provides assurance to its investors that their interests are aligned with the shareholders. Anything detrimental done to the company will affect their own interests as well. Investors are secured enogh to know that the company they have entrusted their money to won’t do anything that will endanger their mutual profits

Secondly, the management should be candid in admitting their mistakes. A CEO who admits to his mistakes is a lot better than a CEO who always the economy and the government for their poor decisions.

Next, it is definitely a fact that a good management thinks and invests like a real owner. A company that invests in projects and activities that create value for the shareholders in the long run is a good company. One should not settle for a company that does not recognise him/her as a part of their profit scheme. Remember, once you have invested you are a shareholder and are entitled to the respective share ย of the company’s earnings.

Last but not the least, a good management is consistent in their plans and results. Plans, no matter ย how great they look on paper, if not implemented, will remain as mere plans. However, a company that sticks to a plan and implements it successfully, is the company one should be interested in.
