Knowledge management

Knowledge management

What is knowledge economy? Everywhere nowadays whether it’s newspaper, media or public discourse we hear this buzz. This is for those who really hear and see what’s going on in their surroundings. So is this kind of economy needed? What is it a process, product or commodity? What do you feel? What is it? See, we in our life study for knowledge so very simple question which I want to ask what you got while studying?
Many a times we tend to overlap knowledge and education? And intelligence too in our day today life but we should be thorough with the concepts.
How much is useful to understand the management of knowledge criticality and how much emphasis is paid in organisation. Knowledgeable person is one who has the ability to analyse, understand, articulate, synthesise, evaluate, judge, interpret, explain and very importantly can differentiate concepts or ideas. In Indian tradition it has been said that education is a thing which gives you “mukti”. Other aspect is “Vidhya dadati vinyam”. From knowledge you can have humility or parity. As you know after exploring different things or whenever we start preparing for exams or Google we sort out what we know and don’t know. The very true statement for journey of knowledge
“Tamsoma jyotirgamya”
It means that how from darkness one can move towards enlightenment. Knowledge is the characteristic of an individual. Like if a person has counselling skills he should be able to mould it in any direction or way in which they want or what is the demand of market.
It is believed that in contemporary economy the most pivotal requirement of any organisation is knowledge.

Today, there is no scarcity of technology, or funds. The two things which are in demand are knowledge and knowledgeable person.
I remember the interview of Bill gates a known personality from 2-3 years back. The richest person of that time, right now Apple has taken the place with its 20,000 billion profits in last quarter and U.S. government claims to be the only one who got high taxes. Bill gates was asked about his company at that time and he answered aptly that there are just 20 people who are assets and once you take out them the Microsoft may fall all of a sudden. In top organisation, the hiring process is meticulous. In Google, 90% people who are hired are interviewed by topmost people Generally they conduct online interview they give actual problem to the candidate and evaluate how in the specified time one may solve the problem and the pattern in which they find or present solution to their tricky question. It. Doesn’t matter how much jazzy or glossy degrees you have, the real test will be there on the table. Normally they take 3-4 rounds to test competencies (critical, core, and functional) and a person should possess positive personality. The whole of the software development has taken place this is what! Your mobile is filled with apps. So this debate can knowledge is taken as eternal or a product with its limited time value will do on.
If you notice the co modification in knowledge like 15-20 years back it was said that whatever you are studying now will help you till last but nowadays you may do not know, so the trend shifted and said that it will be useful for some amount of time.
So the main point is that knowledge is at centre. And the entire economy of the country is asserted by the knowledge they have. That’s why we see the “innovation” is in highlights. Most of the countries national economies are contingent on the basis of the innovation they have.
India is lowest on innovation. We don’t have any product to sell in the market outside. Because we apply “jugad “technology and now it has come to the mainstream of management. So innovation is carried by the knowledge. And if any country, in any organisation is truly augmented, their knowledge management capacity should be of world class and secondly where knowledge does lives? With individual or human and he may come and go in organisation so who will maintain the continuity and this becomes the biggest challenge. So it’s necessary to transform knowledge to 3-4 people in the same way as we are for sake of continuity. It’s in the hand of specialist and if he doesn’t transform the knowledge he creates a vacuum. So to maintain this longevity this whole knowledge arena or domain comes up and doesn’t matter to the market whether a particular knowledgeable person of an organisation quits or leave they have to continue to sell product in the market. So the continuity is important and yes it is true that knowledge is too, but the main challenge is the knowledge management and how you codify them.
Like coca cola is made with a codified formula, the whole game is on it. Tata has to just put its stamp on the product as it has built the reliability for years together. 15 years back having a landline was a great invincibility and now if you use a phone more than one year you are insulted by others. The craze of iPhone too, people are dying and buying, dying and buying it.
This is the era where short life co modification and continuous change is the order of living. Now within this doing something as substantive as solid as knowledge and managing it across the organisation is very challenging.
