Illiteracy a curse…

Illiteracy a curse...

Literacy is the key factor in the socio economic progress of an country.India too like a developing country is striving in order to achieve its financial and structural progress. After China India is the second country  with the greatest manpower in the face of the Earth, so we can we achieve  anything easily. However to get it done the people must know what to do and how to do.Here comes the term literacy.

There is a wide gender disparity in the literacy rate in India.Though we talk about female equality in social media sites and don’t forget to share the posts on Facebook or twit it on Twitter, we still lack it when it comes to actual situations. Most people in here prefers to let there daughters marry soon after a bachelors degree without getting a higher education itself even if they want to.Well in most cases they are sometimes not fortunate enough. Thus, without much surprise India shows a gender disparity in terms of   literacy showing 83% literacy for males and only 57% for females. It surely pains us to see the low literacy rates among the masses ,hence bringing down the overall literacy rate below 81%.Thus India falls far below the average world literacy rate of 89.6%.

according to a recent study the literacy rates of the countries are as follows—>

Country Adult Literacy Rate Youth Literacy Rate
China 95.1% 99.6%
Sri Lanka 90.8% 98.0%
Burma 89.9%  94.4%
World Average 84%  89.6%
India 74.04% 81.1%

All third world countries faces the same problems. The major problems that leads to the evil of illiteracy are overpopulation, poverty and lack of infrastructure.

Some NGOs are striving hard to provide basic level education to the little ones. Some other steps taken are…Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said a ‘Haryana Kanya Kosh’ would be set up to provide financial assistance on the birth of first girl child. President Pranab Mukherjee today emphasised on stepping up efforts toward complete eradication of illiteracy from the country with enhanced focus on improving literacy rate among SC, ST, minorities and disadvantaged sections of the society. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said he wants the state to be a ” digital A.P. “.

Still now when we visit the insides of West Bengal, Bihar, e.t.c. , and other rural places we still see lots of people, who are brilliant enough but can’t get the proper education due to lack of money and proper infrastructure. It is because of a not getting a proper chance thousands of brilliant youth are still unemployed.Though they have the urge they can’t because they don’t get a proper chance .In-spite of several projects and plans made by the Indian government like “Sarbyo Shikhya Avijan” in reality nothing seems to happened in reality for the common masses. Mizoram’s government has already proved its essence by making an overall literacy rate of 91.33%.Thus it means that if the State and Central government really wants to do so they surely have the power to completely eradicate this evil from the face of the country and make India really a powerful face in the world.

So, can’t we make amends to help our brothers in need.So here today we ask the government to take some  more steps and help its own citizens, and to prove that India is not just any country but it has the power to be one in the very best in the world!!!
