Followings are the steps that will help improve productivity and obtain the desired fulfillment.
- Start your day with a goal in mind: Make a note of your goal for the day and analyze your major definite purpose. Give a deep thought about what you wish to accomplish in life? These goals may change day to day. This practice helps to organize your actions to align with your purpose and goal.
- Create a list of tasks: The list of tasks should be divide into three sections – The first section gives the “bigger picture,” or “long term goals”, write down steps needed to achieve these goals (from a few months to a year). The second section describes the daily tasks to be performed to achieve the long-term goals. The last and the final section deals with tasks which do not fall into the other two sections. Focus on the tasks in the first and second column on which you need to focus today.
- Structure your day: It is very important to structure your day so that you strategically spread the “release” time between your “work times.” For instance, squeeze a half hour in your day for exercising , this will not only help you in better blood flow and health but also set you up with a positive attitude for the remainder of the day.
- Prioritize: Perform the important tasks first when you are most energized. Schedule the most difficult and important tasks first and try to complete them before the deadline.
- Concentrate on your goals: Keep the to-do list close by so you can refer to them as and when required. Work seriously with your heart and soul, keep yourself away from distractions. Finish your tasks as efficiently as possible, this will free up your time to work on other things.
- Connect with people: Take out time to connect with people, specifically people who are important to you. It is important to focus but do not get so absorbed in work/productivity/scheduling that you lose contact with the people who matter most. Connecting with people is important because human connection is essential for fulfillment.
- Assess: Perform quick assessment at the end of the day, of what worked and what did not work. Review your goals again and practice a relaxation technique to rejuvenate yourself.
