It’s time to bring magic back in the world! Yes, Google is leading a $542 million investment in Magic Leap, which is a technology startup and is planning to bring a huge revolution in the way we perceive technology.
Google’s mysterious investment in Magic Leap will alter cinematic experience too. As per reports, this startup is working on a new kind of augmented reality which it calls cinematic reality. It believes that it will provide a more realistic 3D experience than anything else at present or in future to come!
Magic Leap’s technology will project high resolution images in front of us, most likely through a pair of glasses. Not bulky glasses, hopefully and as they are saying! 😛 And then it’ll change the way we see, experience and do things. Amazing part is, that the company envisions it’s technology being used in people’s day to day lives and not just for gaming, even though the 3D part and the glasses make us think that it would be only for gaming and fun activities.
This company in Florida, has got many big partners backing it, from Google being the most important one, along with Legendary pictures, Weta workshops ( which was behind the special effects in movies like The lord of rings, The hobbit etc. ) and such big names.
However, the company is not letting out too many details and is being intentionally vague so as to build suspense and curiosity among the people. But the loose idea described by them is, that instead of creating a virtual world separate from the real world, in which the users can immerse themselves, Magic leap plans to take the giant leap by weaving 3D scriptures into the world right in front of us.
So, as this news of Google taking the great leap is out, and as they’re saying that it’ll be a new way for humans to interact with computers, I’m sure that most of us can’t wait for it to be out soon. Till then, let’s wait for the magic to begin and seep into our lives! 😀

Technology is changing really very fast. In near future not only Google, but its competitors too will have the same technology. It all comes down to who has deeper pockets to dole out such innovations.
Yes I absolutely agree with you Akul.
