Admission to all the colleges in Delhi University to the first batch of the four-year undergraduate programme will start from tomorrow, June 27, 2013 (Thursday). A consolidated cutoff list will be issued and admissions in colleges will commence simultaneously. The window period for admissions in each of the five cut-off lists will be for 3 days inclusive of the day on which the list is issued. The university will issue separate cutoffs for OBC, SC/ ST and persons with disability.
Since the aspirants did not have the option to select the colleges at the time of registration this year, therefore they need to study the cutoff list carefully. It is advised that the candidates choose the colleges they are eligible for and visit for admission with relevant documents at the earliest as the admission period is for three days in each list. As once admissions close in a particular list, the candidates will not be allowed to take admission based on that list but only based on subsequent cutoffs. Candidates who have applied for ECA/ sports quota admissions, but have also filled the OMR forms can also go for admission in general category in case they fulfill the cutoff criterion.
It is expected that the cutoffs will drop in subsequent lists, it is always advised to reserve a seat in whichever college one is eligible for. In case a candidate is eligible in the subsequent list for a given college of their choice, one can always cancel their admission and get the documents and original certificates back the same day.
Delhi University has introduced new courses including one management course at undergraduate level and six B.Tech degrees — B.Tech in psychological science, computer science, electronics, food technology, instrumentation and polymer science. Even though, the amount of seats in many courses have increased significantly because of seat re-appropriation as B.Sc, BA and B.Com have been discontinued, yet the cutoff’s are not likely to drop as much.
