Almost all courses expected to stay in the second list

The second cut-off list will be issued on Monday and viewing the flow on second day of admission, almost all courses are expected to remain open in the second cutoff list. Popular colleges like Hindu, Ramjas, SGTB Khalsa, Kirori Mal, Miranda House and Hans Raj are likely to remain open for admission in courses like commerce, economics, English, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and zoology in the second cutoff list. Fall in percentage in the  second cutoff are expected to be anything between 0.25% to 3%.

Following is the admission count of colleges in Delhi University

  • The second day of admissions sees a huge rush at KMC with more than 450 admissions as against 175 on the first day. Kirori Mal College (KMC) has admitted just 629 students across all its courses. Admissions for commerce, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, chemistry, botany, history and economics will also remain open for admissions in the second list.
  • Courses likely to remain open for admissions in the second list  include commerce, economics, English and mathematics at Hindu College.
  • With just 180 admissions, SGTB Khalsa will offer all courses in the forthcoming list.
  • IP College admitted 195 students in economics against 90 seats and 56 students in psychology as against 52 seats. Nearly all the mathematics seats are exhausted and these courses along with commerce are unlikely to be available in the second list. But courses like English and journalism will remain open in the second list.
  • Gargi has exhausted all its general category seats in almost all courses and will remain open just in history and Sanskrit. On the second day the college admitted over 700 students and has crossed the 1,100 mark.

Off-campus colleges will also remain open for admissions –  Colleges like KNC are likely to remain open with decreased cutoff in mathematics, philosophy, Hindi and economics, among others, while College of Vocation Studies may remain open in economics and commerce. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) will continue admissions in zoology, botany, mathematics, chemistry and physics.
