‘ Leadership is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust among colleagues and taking effective action to realize your own leadership potential.”- Warren Bennis

This term is very beautifully defined by ‘Warren Bennis’. Leadership cannot be considered to be  a single term .It constitutes of a number of qualities such as decision making power, trust building among employees , honesty and a lot more. Leadership does not include only a person’s authority over others. It means that the person in the authority should be capable enough to be  able to win the confidence of his team members and they start obeying him with their own will. 

According to ‘ENTERPRENUER’ website,” an individual should have the following four basic qualities to become a good leader:

* You must have a vision– We have all heard the saying that” you must stand for something or you’ll fall for everything”.Standing firm to your company’s  policy and procedure is well and good, but it does’nt speak of having a vision.As a leader you would have to learn to communicate you vision or the vision of your company to the people you want to follow you.

*You must have a passion- Your employees want passion, they ‘ll go any extend because of it.To build an extra ordinary management team , you have got to ‘light the fire in their bellies’,to  get them feel the passion about their company and connect to their leaders.

*You must learn to be a great decision maker: some leaders have a set of process and others fly by the seat of their pants. DONT be that kind of leader who announces the change without consulting others and regrets later on.

*You must be a team builder- to become a good leader you should be capable of developing a great team or one should say well oiled team. “

If a person is capable of developing the following above traits in himself then surely he/she  is going to be superb leader !
