Data Mining

Data Mining is the process of analyzing data from different perspective and summarizing it into useful information . In simple words, this is a method to find a specific series or pattern of information to meet the goals.

Technically, Data Mining is the process of finding correlation or patterns among dozens of fluids in large relational databases.

Ufffff !! too much of  ” tech-tech”  words right ???

Let me Explain it to you with a simple life example 😀

Let us consider a “X” department store in US . The owner of this store is in huge problem because for the past 2 months “Alcoholic Beverage counter ” was lacking poor footfall and the owner was facing huge loss . The problem started when he shifted the counter to a new location in store . He found that before Shifting of the counter to the new place it was near to “Daycare products counter” so  father’s who came to buy this product has no hesitation in buying that as its was just near to the Daycare counter .. now the counter is shifted to a new place which lacked Customer Attraction . As its Human psychology that no one will openly search for  these in public right ??? 😀

So the owner shifted the counter back to the original place and guess what ? , his sales got a hike

So guys what can you see in this above example ?? . The owner found a certain combination (beverage – Daycare ) or pattern that helped him to get out of this problem.

This is called Data Mining .. 😀 ..

So now I hope all of you got to know what data mining is ? .

Everybody must have heard about WALLMART ,it is pioneering massive data mining to transform its supplier relationships.  They keeps data to identify customer buying patterns at their store and with this information they manage local store inventory and identify new merchandising Techniques .

Another Example is NBA (National Basketball association ) they analyze the movement of players to help plan new strategies . Sounds Interesting right ???

This Method is primary used by company with strong Consumer Focus .

Basically Data Mining Consist of

•  Extract and load the information.
•  Manage it at the Data Base System.
• Provide access to Professionals to analyse the data
• Present the data in such a way that can be easily formulated by anyone .

Trust me Guys, this technology is till hidden behind the veil. Many companies are still on continuous innovation on this  as if one can find the correct pattern is to find the right – B”Right” path to their future.
