Maggi is the most popular snack of India. We all agree to the fact that maggi has been ruling the food industry of India from more than a decade now. We all are having some or the other story attached to it. For me maggi was my mid night snack at the time of my exams and i am sure every student can relate to this point. A wave of shock appeared few days back when the Government of India decided to ban maggi.
According to the authorities maggi contains high amount of mono sodium glutamate which is way higher than the normal level due to which it faces ban in India. In India maggi is banned in around more than states including Delhi and Utaar Pradesh .The license have also been cancelled to produce maggi.In delhi a sample was conducted and 11 out of 13 packets contained huge amount of mono sodium glutanate.
Maggie alone counted to about 25% of the sales revenue of Nestle,Delhi being an important market. A ban on maggi has resulted in a huge drop in the revenue of Nestle. About more than 1500 employees of nestle were shifted to other departments. Nestle had to withdraw the entire lot from the market due to which company faced huge loses.The maggi’s brand value dropped by $200 million and the company sees a hit of more than $32 billion in India.
Ban on maggi has not only effected Nestle but also many food joints selling varieties of maggi. One such food joint is TOM UNCLE MAGGI POINT. It is the most famous food joint in Delhi University with maggi as the main item in it’s menu.It has now decided to make a change in it’s menu and decided to use its substitutes.Many more such food joints famous among the Delhites are HOTSPOT , NESCAFE , MAGGIE POINT etc. If these people are incurring loses there are many companies taking advantage of this ban. Substitutes of maggi like TOP RAMEN, YIEPPIE NOODLES, WAI WAI NOODLES etc are gaining popularity.
If i write about my wish i dont want a ban on maggi because most of my childhood memories are attached to it.Maggi has been ruling the market since years and i hope that Nestle soon come up with a new lot with no MSG in it.

I agree that Nestle has full potential to make a comeback but this time at a safer level.
High content of LEAD also found in Maggi which is very poisonous. It affects the liver as well as kidney also.MSG, found in Maggi, is a test enhancer which is extracted from the liver of pig…tHis is also the reason of banned the Maggi in india.

maggi has been a part of growing up of every 90’s kid,the ban is surely shocking as it is promising for food safety in india
I feel Nesle is going to fight for justice and may win the case in future, but I don’t think they will be able to regain its earlier stronghold in the market.
