RSS, Tagging and Blogging

Using Social Media and RSS

Social media is more than just Facebook and Twitter. It extends to different ways the public can be involved with the institution, including accessing news and contributing content to blogs. Understanding the different options helps to determine how the institution can extend its visibility and be involved with site visitors.

Authorized users can automate the publishing of content to social media channels, such as Facebook and Twitter, with the creation or update of a web page. Updates can occur on an immediate of scheduled basis, and users can publish to multiple Twitter accounts and Facebook Page simultaneous. Additionally, with the OU Social feature, it is possible to manage the content on Facebook pages from within OU Campus. Blog content may also be integrated into OU Campus and managed through the interface. An RSS feed can be set up and feed items added by users. Administrators can view a report of all social media posts published from within OU Campus.
