Insert, Position and Size Graphics
Microsoft Word allows you to insert graphics, such as pictures or clip art, into your documents to enhance their visual appeal. Here are the steps to insert, position, and size graphics in MS Word:
Insert the graphic: Go to the “Insert” tab in the Word ribbon and click on “Pictures” or “Clip Art” to insert the graphic. You can also drag and drop the graphic from a file explorer window directly into your document.
Position the graphic: Click on the graphic to select it, then use your mouse to drag it to the desired location on your document. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the graphic into place.
Size the graphic: Click and drag one of the corners of the graphic to resize it proportionally. If you want to resize the graphic without maintaining its proportions, hold down the “Shift” key while dragging one of the corners.
Wrap text around the graphic: If you want to wrap text around the graphic, select the graphic, go to the “Format” tab in the Word ribbon, and choose the “Wrap Text” option. From there, you can choose how you want the text to wrap around the graphic.
Adjust the graphic settings: You can adjust the brightness, contrast, and other settings of the graphic by selecting it and going to the “Format” tab in the Word ribbon. From there, you can choose different picture styles and effects, as well as crop the graphic to remove unwanted parts.

Open your Word document and place your cursor where you want to insert the graphic.
Click on the “Insert” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
Click on the “Pictures” option in the “Illustrations” section of the ribbon.
Select the graphic you want to insert and click “Insert”.
Once the graphic is inserted, you can resize it by clicking and dragging one of the handles on the corners of the graphic. To maintain the aspect ratio, hold down the “Shift” key while resizing.
To move the graphic, click and drag it to the desired location.
To position the graphic more precisely, click on the graphic to select it, then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move it one pixel at a time in any direction.
If you want to wrap text around the graphic, select the graphic and then click on the “Wrap Text” option in the “Format” tab of the ribbon. Choose the wrapping style that you want from the available options.
