Create Bulleted Lists, Numbered Lists and Outlines

Here are the steps to create bulleted lists, numbered lists, and outlines in Microsoft Word:

Bulleted Lists:

Place your cursor where you want to create the bulleted list in your Word document.

Click on the “Home” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.

Click on the “Bullets” button in the “Paragraph” section of the ribbon.

Type the first item of your list and then press “Enter” to move to the next item.

To end the list, press “Enter” twice.

Numbered Lists:

Place your cursor where you want to create the numbered list in your Word document.

Click on the “Home” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.

Click on the “Numbering” button in the “Paragraph” section of the ribbon.

Type the first item of your list and then press “Enter” to move to the next item.

Word will automatically number each item in the list.

To end the list, press “Enter” twice.

Outlines:

Place your cursor where you want to create the outline in your Word document.

Click on the “Home” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.

Click on the “Multilevel List” button in the “Paragraph” section of the ribbon.

Choose the outline format you want to use from the available options.

Type the first item of your outline and then press “Enter” to move to the next item.

Word will automatically format the outline based on the format you chose.

To add sub-items to your outline, press the “Tab” key to indent the item and create a sub-item.
