EIGRP Configuration Verification and Authentication

EIGRP Configuration Verification and Authentication

To verify EIGRP configuration and operation, you can use the following commands:

show ip protocols: This command displays the current EIGRP configuration parameters, including the router ID, autonomous system (AS) number, and network statements.

show ip eigrp neighbors: This command shows the status of the EIGRP neighbor relationships, including the neighbor IP address, interface, and state.

show ip eigrp topology: This command displays the EIGRP topology table, which shows the best routes to each destination network, along with the next-hop router and metric.

show ip route: This command displays the IP routing table, which includes all routes learned by EIGRP, as well as other routing protocols.

debug eigrp packet: This command enables debug messages for EIGRP packets, which can be useful for troubleshooting neighbor relationships and route calculation.

To configure EIGRP authentication, you can use the following commands:

key chain: This command creates a key chain that will be used to authenticate EIGRP packets.

key: This command adds a key to the key chain.

interface: This command enters interface configuration mode.

ip authentication mode eigrp: This command enables EIGRP authentication on the interface.

ip authentication key-chain eigrp: This command specifies the key chain to use for EIGRP authentication on the interface.
