Download, Extract and upload Joomla

Download, Extract and upload Joomla

Download, Extract, and Upload are three essential steps to install Joomla on a web server. Here’s a brief overview of each step:

  1. Download: Joomla is a free, open-source content management system (CMS) that can be downloaded from the official Joomla website. To download Joomla, you need to choose the latest stable version and select the download format, such as .zip or .tar.gz.
  2. Extract: Once you have downloaded the Joomla installation package, you need to extract it. You can do this by using a file extraction software like WinZip, WinRAR, or 7-Zip. Extract the downloaded file to your local computer or server, and you will get a folder named “Joomla_X.X.X-Stable-Full_Package.”
  3. Upload: The next step is to upload the extracted Joomla files to your web server. You can use a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client like FileZilla to upload the files to your server. Connect to your server using FTP credentials, navigate to the root directory of your web server, and upload the Joomla files. Make sure you upload the files to the correct directory.

Once you have completed these three steps, you can run the Joomla installation script by navigating to your website’s URL in your web browser. The installation script will guide you through the installation process, including configuring your database settings and creating an administrator account. After completing the installation process, you will have a fully functional Joomla website.
