HTML 5 Multimedia tag

HTML 5 has two new elements specifically for multimedia to overcome the mismatch support of multimedia content amongst various browsers. The tags are

<audio> – for adding audio files to web pages. It will be used to make it easier to add MP3 and WAVE files to web pages

<video> for adding video files.

But browser companies are not agreeing on the format of videos as specified using the <video> element hence, it may take years before either of these elements is widely used.
