Format and Resize Graphics

Microsoft Excel allows you to insert and format graphics, such as pictures and charts, to enhance the visual appeal of your spreadsheets. Here are some tips for formatting and resizing graphics in Excel:

Insert a graphic: To insert a graphic, click on the “Insert” tab in the ribbon and choose the type of graphic you want to insert, such as a picture or chart. Follow the on-screen instructions to insert the graphic into your spreadsheet.

Format the graphic: To format the graphic, click on the graphic to select it and then choose the “Format” tab in the ribbon. Use the options in the “Picture Styles” group to change the border, shadow, and reflection effects of the picture. Use the “Picture Effects” and “Crop” options to add various effects and change the shape of the picture.

Resize the graphic: To resize a graphic, click on it to select it and then click and drag one of the corners of the graphic to adjust its size. If you want to maintain the aspect ratio of the graphic (so it doesn’t appear distorted), hold down the “Shift” key while dragging the corner.

Position the graphic: To position the graphic, click on it to select it and then drag it to the desired location. Use the “Align” and “Arrange” options in the “Format” tab to align the graphic with other elements on the spreadsheet or to change the layering order of multiple graphics.

Add text to the graphic: If you want to add text to the graphic, select the graphic and then click on the “Insert Text Box” option in the “Text” group under the “Insert” tab. You can then type your text into the text box and use the “Format” tab to format the text and adjust its position relative to the graphic.
