Define and Modify Workbook Properties

Workbook properties in Microsoft Excel are metadata that provide information about the workbook, such as its author, title, and subject. Here’s how to define and modify workbook properties in Excel:

Open the Excel workbook you want to modify the properties for.

Go to the “File” tab in the ribbon, and choose “Info” in the left-hand menu.

Click the “Properties” dropdown menu and select “Advanced Properties.”

In the “Properties” dialog box, you can modify various properties such as Title, Subject, Author, Manager, Company, Category, and Keywords.

After making the desired changes, click “OK” to save the properties.

You can also define custom properties by clicking the “Custom” tab in the “Properties” dialog box and entering a new property name and value.

In addition, you can view and modify some of the workbook properties directly in the backstage view under the “Info” tab. For example, you can change the document’s author and add tags to the document.

Keep in mind that workbook properties can be useful for organizing and searching for your files, so it’s a good practice to fill in relevant properties for your workbooks.
