BizTalk Adapters

BizTalk Adapters are components that enable BizTalk Server to communicate with different systems and applications. They provide a bridge between BizTalk Server and external systems, allowing messages to be exchanged seamlessly between them. BizTalk Server provides a wide range of adapters for different systems and protocols, including:

FTP: This adapter is used to exchange files using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

HTTP: This adapter is used to exchange messages using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).

SMTP: This adapter is used to send email messages using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).

SQL Server: This adapter is used to exchange messages with SQL Server databases.

WCF: This adapter is used to exchange messages using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).

SAP: This adapter is used to exchange messages with SAP systems.

Oracle: This adapter is used to exchange messages with Oracle databases.

Custom: BizTalk Server also provides a Custom Adapter Framework that enables developers to create custom adapters for specific systems and protocols. Adapters in BizTalk Server provide a powerful set of features that enable seamless integration with external systems. They provide a standardized way of connecting to different systems, which reduces the need for custom integration code. Adapters also provide support for features such as transaction management, message delivery guarantees, and message validation, which makes it easier to build reliable and robust integration solutions.
