API, triggers and ACL

API (Application Programming Interface) in Hadoop and MapReduce refer to a set of protocols, routines, and tools for building software applications. These APIs enable developers to interact with Hadoop and MapReduce to access and manipulate data stored in the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and perform complex data processing tasks.

Triggers in Hadoop and MapReduce refer to a feature that allows users to schedule actions based on specific events or conditions. For example, users can set up a trigger to automatically run a particular MapReduce job when a new file is added to HDFS. ACL (Access Control Lists) in Hadoop and MapReduce refer to a security mechanism used to control access to data stored in HDFS. ACLs define the permissions granted to users or groups to read, write, or execute files or directories in HDFS. This feature enables administrators to set up fine-grained access controls, ensuring that only authorized users can access sensitive data.
