Page and document setup

To set up the page and document in CorelDRAW, you can follow these steps:

  1. Launch CorelDRAW.
  2. Click on “File” in the menu bar and select “New” or use the shortcut Ctrl+N.
  3. In the New Document dialog box, you can set up the page and document settings.

Page Setup:

  • Page Size: Choose the desired page size from the “Page size” dropdown menu. You can select from a range of standard preset sizes or enter custom dimensions.
  • Orientation: Select either “Portrait” (vertical) or “Landscape” (horizontal) for the page orientation.
  • Units: Choose the unit of measurement for your document, such as inches, millimeters, pixels, etc.
  • Resolution: Specify the resolution for your document, which determines the quality of raster images. Higher resolutions are typically used for print projects.

Document Setup:

  • Number of Pages: Specify the number of pages you want in your document. You can choose a single page or a multiple-page layout.
  • Page Layout: Set the page layout options, such as single page, facing pages, or booklet mode.
  • Margins: Define the margins for your document, specifying the distance between the edge of the page and the content area.
  • Bleed: If you require bleed for your design (extra area outside the page for accommodating print trimming), enter the bleed value in the appropriate field.
  • Grid and Guides: Set up grid and guide options if you want to enable grids and guides to assist with alignment and positioning.
  1. Once you have set up the desired page and document settings, click “OK” to create a new document with the specified setup.
