Named Anchor

Named Anchor

Named anchors in Dreamweaver CS5 are used to create internal links within a web page. A named anchor is a specific location on a web page that has been assigned a unique name or identifier. By using named anchors, users can easily jump to a specific section of a page without having to scroll through the entire page.

To create a named anchor in Dreamweaver CS5, users need to follow these steps:

  1. Place the cursor where you want the named anchor to appear.
  2. Go to the “Insert” menu and select “Named Anchor”.
  3. In the “Named Anchor” dialog box, enter a name for the anchor.
  4. Click “OK” to create the named anchor.

Once the named anchor is created, users can create a link to it by using the anchor’s name as the value of the “href” attribute in an “a” tag.
