Absolute Positioning

Absolute Positioning

Absolute positioning is a feature in Dreamweaver CS5 that allows web developers to precisely position an HTML element on a web page by specifying its exact location in relation to the top, left, bottom, or right of the web page. With absolute positioning, an element is removed from the normal flow of the web page, and its position is determined by the values set for its positioning properties.

To use absolute positioning in Dreamweaver CS5, select the element you want to position and go to the “CSS Styles” panel. In the “Position” category, choose “Absolute” from the drop-down menu. You can then use the “Top”, “Left”, “Bottom”, and “Right” properties to specify the exact position of the element in relation to the web page. One advantage of absolute positioning is that it allows developers to create complex layouts that are difficult to achieve with other positioning techniques. However, it is important to use absolute positioning judiciously, as it can lead to issues with responsiveness and accessibility if not implemented properly.
